Welcome to my hacking page. Eventually I hope to have all
of my past and ongoing projects archived here.
In the meantime, please feel free to check out our

The
Incompatible Timesharing System (ITS).
Written and used at MIT during
the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, this was the ultimate
assembly-language hacker's operating system, with many features
still unmatched even on modern systems. As it was very closely
tied to the 36-bit architecture of the PDP-6 and PDP-10, it was
effectively orphaned in 1983 when owner Digital Equipment
Corporation discontinued the PDP-10 line.
This project explores the revival of ITS, primarily on PDP-10
simulators running on inexpensive and available current
hardware.
